Sorry for the late comment, but I'd like to clear this up a bit:
Carmilla is fictional character created by Sheridan Le Fanu in 1872. Carmilla is a lesbian vampire.
Elizabeth Bathory was an existing person (she lived between 1560-1624 in Hungary) who thought bathing in the blood of virgins would make her immortal.
So even though Carmilla's charater is based on the Blood Countess they are not the same.
